Philip: A private investigator.
Kitty and Chloe first met Midge and Molly at a convent school aged eleven, the four have been very close friends ever since.

At the convent, all the pupils were badly mistreated.

When the twins were sixteen, their parents died. Shortly after this the convent school burnt down, the strong suspicion being that Midge and Molly set it on fire.

The twins inherited a big industrial building standing in large grounds from their parents, the four set it up as a temporary school for the displaced convent pupils, later they converted it to a club. Many of the pupils remained living in the building after their schooling finished.

A group of thugs had been sent to the building to hurt as many occupants as they could, they'd been hired by the abbess of the convent as some sort of revenge. They were beaten off before any of the building's occupants got seriously hurt. In the process, one of the attackers got his leg badly damaged, they refer to him as Broken Knee.
